Venue – Station Park – Tuesday 9th July kick-off 7.45p.m.
The ‘Loons’ bid welcome to the new ‘kids on the block’ in the SPFL when Cove Rangers visit Station Park in what is a final pre-season fixture for both clubs on Tuesday evening.
Manager Jim Weir has been delighted with the fitness level and performances in the two matches so far against Dunfermline Athletic and Morton and he will again be hoping to give the vast majority if not all of his squad a run out against the Aberdeen based outfit. On Saturday past only Scott Robertson was an absentee.
He will, however, have an eye on his likely starting eleven for the visit of Brechin City on Saturday in the Betfred Cup opener.
Cove last week appointed Paul Hartley as their new Manager after John Sheran decided to move upstairs to a Director of Football role after his recent health scare. The former Alloa, Dundee and Falkirk boss will like his players be relishing the task ahead in their first season at SPFL level following their Play-Off final rout of Berwick Rangers. To date, they have recorded home wins over Inverurie Loco Works and Montrose in friendly jousts.
