Of The Loons
The Forfar Athletic Directors, in fact, all connected with the Club, will be thrilled by the news that in these difficult economic times as we move out of the pandemic, Orchard Timber Products Ltd Managing Director Scott McKinlay and fellow Directors Stuart Fraser and Kevin Golder have confirmed that their company are to continue as the Club’s main sponsor for a staggering 16th season.
This level of continued backing by a locally based company is almost unique in the Scottish game and Station Park officials have been so grateful for this support since 2006.
The company’s main base is still of course at their ever-expanding premises at the Orchardbank Industrial Estate in the town although they also have a similar set-up in Livingston and a sales office in the Granite City.
Apart from the obvious financial contribution, the company have supported the club in many other ways over the period, notably with their involvement in the Golf Day and the Sportsman’s Dinner, both events hopefully due to return to the calendar sooner rather than later.
Orchard’s support last season, when of course supporters were consigned to watching live streaming of fixtures (and a televised match vs Dundee United on the BBC!) in what turned out to be an extremely difficult campaign, was even more commendable.
However when competitive action gets underway in around six weeks time, the ‘Loons’ board look forward to hopefully welcoming Orchard’s Directors, staff and customers back to Station Park whether it be in the Boardroom, the Hospitality Lounges or simply on the terracing.
We look forward to arranging a photoshoot with Orchard Timber Products representatives, especially when our new look second choice strip is to hand. In the meantime can only yet again pass on our most grateful thanks to Scott, Kevin and Stuart for their continued support.
