CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE
[Friday, 28 February 2025 10:52]

Since our previous Board update in January, there is no question that our situation in League 2 got worse before it has since started to improve somewhat, following a more recent upturn in our results. The home reversals against both Stranraer and Edinburgh City in particular – coupled with the other teams closest to us picking up points – had the Club in a particularly difficult position. We fully understand the frustrations that this leads to amongst our supporters.
That said, the performances and results away from home, on both Saturday past at Bonnyrigg and on Tuesday evening at The Spartans, has begun to reduce the gap on the teams above us. This will hopefully give some cause for cautious optimism and renewed hope to all of a Loons persuasion. We all now hope that the team can back this up on Saturday when we are at home against Clyde as we look to increase the pressure on the teams directly above us in the league table, before making the lengthy journey to Stranraer on Tuesday for what is another vital fixture.
Now is the time when we all need to dig deep and give Jim and the players our unwavering and vocal backing. At times like the present when things are tough, the support from the terracing can help to lift the players. I would urge you all to continue to get fully behind Jim and the team in every match between now and the end of the season!
The support which has recently been demonstrated to the Club has been magnificent – from local business support through to the contributions made to our Fighting Fund.
There is no escaping the fact that during the January transfer window, our league position did not make us an attractive proposition to potential signings. The manager and his team have worked extremely hard to try to add to our current playing squad but have ultimately been frustrated in many of their efforts in this regard. The Fighting Fund has however allowed Jim to add some new faces and to increase the depth of our squad. As we have previously assured all supporters, any monies which have not been used by Jim in the January window, and February loan window, will be available to him to assist in future transfer dealings.
This Club and our supporters all deserve better than our current league position. The manager, backroom team, players and Directors all firmly believe this and remain firm in the belief that we can, and will, ensure that we remain in the SPFL at the conclusion of the current league season.
Starting on Saturday, and over the six remaining home league games, let’s show up in numbers, try to drive this team forward and make Forfar a place that away teams will not relish visiting! Together, we can help to make sure that we can do this!
